Dr. Beelke has worked in clinical research for more than 20 years, including 7 years within academic research in Neurology and Sleep Medicine. He has held positions in Pharma, Biotech and CRO at local, regional and global level, and is experienced in Clinical Development and Medical Affairs for all phases from I to IV (the latter for both, interventional and non-interventional studies), PASS, registry trials, epidemiological studies and clinical surveys.
Dr. Beelke himself has designed more than 30 clinical trials, provided medical guidance in more than 60 clinical trials, reviewed more than 300 clinical study proposals, and has chaired and spoken at numerous conferences in the field of Sleep Medicine, Multiple Sclerosis and on Life-Cycle Management of medicines pertinent to these therapeutic areas.
His KOL medical expertise has also been extended into business development for pharma and biotech, identifying new companies or compounds for acquisition, and at a CRO level by facilitating dialogue with potential new customers through his medical expertise and astute business acumen.
Dr. Beelke holds an MD (University of Genoa, Italy), and a PhD in Sleep Medicine (University of Bologna, Italy), has received training with board certification as a Clinical Neurophysiologist (University of Genoa, Italy), and a board certification as expert in Sleep Medicine from the Italian Society for Sleep Medicine (AIMS).
