Mr. Lie-Jun Wang is the Deputy Director General of the Social Development Research Division of the Development Research Center of the China State Council (DRC). He has a Ph.D. in Sociology from Peking University. Wang joined the Social Development Research Division of the DRC in 2003 and has been engaged in social policy research, areas include health care policies, social security, and aging. From 2003 to 2007, Wang was a key member of the research project titled: “Reform of China's Health Care System: Review and Outlook”, and played an important role in promoting China's new round of healthcare reforms in 2009. He has been a visiting scholar at Harvard University, London School of Economics (LSE), and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). He also serves as the Executive Director of the China Association of Social Security (CAOSS), and as the of the Director of the China Health Insurance Research Association.
