Shaw re-joined Eli Lilly and Company in April 2017 as Senior Vice President Eli Lilly & Company and President of Lilly
Bio-Medicines. Leading Lilly’s broadest therapeutic portfolio, Shaw oversees late-stage clinical development and
commercialization for the company’s leading positions in Immunology, Pain, Migraine and Alzheimer’s disease – some
of Lilly’s most significant opportunities to make life better for patients. She also leads commercial responsibilities in
the world’s largest markets for the above mentioned Lilly medicines' therapeutic areas as well as in neuroscience and
After beginning her career at Lilly in 1989, Shaw has held positions of increasing influence and authority across the biopharmaceutical
industry over three decades, including leadership positions at Lilly, Johnson & Johnson and Novartis,
where she most recently served as US Country President and President, Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation. Her
leadership spans a broad range of therapeutic areas, including oncology, cardiovascular, respiratory, dermatology,
rheumatology, infectious disease, neuroscience, ophthalmology and medical devices.
Shaw currently serves on the boards of the Biotechnology Industry Organization(BIO); the Healthcare Women's
Business Association(HBA); Avantor, a global manufacturer and distributor of products, services and solutions to
professionals in the life sciences and advanced technology industries; and Gra/ey Market, a company focused on
conservation and rental properties to family farmers. She previously served on the Healthcare Leadership Council
Board and the Young Women's Leadership Network Board.
In 2019, the Practical Recommendations in Immuno and Molecular Oncology (PRIMO) group named her one of their
Women in Oncology award recipients. The Society for Women's Health Research presented her with the 2018 Health
Visionary Award celebrating her achievements toward advancing Women's Health. She was named one of Indiana
Business Journal's 2018 Women of Influence. In 2017, Christi was featured in HS&M Magazine, profiling her
“unconventional path to success” as the President of Lilly Bio-Medicines. Shaw was presented with Eye for Pharma’s
prestigious “Lifetime Achievement Award” in May of 2016 for her industry thought-leadership and dedication to the
needs of patients. PharmaVOICE also named Shaw to its “100 Most Inspiring People” list in 2016, and Diversity Journal
included her in its list of “Women Worth Watching.” Shaw has spoken at leading industry conferences on the future of
healthcare, driving innovation to support better patient outcomes and encouraging a diverse and inclusive culture. In
addition, her perspectives have been featured in Working Mother and Life Science Leader.
In 2017, Shaw founded the More Moments More Memories Foundation to assist people with cancer and their
caregivers. A proud native of Iowa, Shaw and her sister own and manage a number of local farms, advancing innovative
green methods to promote sustainability, conservation and forest preservation, while supporting future independent
farmers. She earned an MBA from the University of Wisconsin and a BBA from Iowa State University. Shaw lives with
her husband and son in Indianapolis.
