After a 40-year career in academic psychiatry. Frank has turned her attention to developing mobile technology based on the same sleep/wake, circadian and social rhythm regulation principles that were the focus of her many years of academic research. Since 2012, she has been collaborating with internationally-recognized information scientists to develop mobile technology and clinical interfaces to help in the early identification of behavioral health problems and in the achievement and maintenance of wellness in those who suffer from mental and addictive disorders. Dr. Frank brings to this new effort broad experience in diagnosis, treatment, intervention development, study design and conduct of clinical trials. She is about to complete HealthRhythms’ successful Phase II SBIR study of Cue®, a smartphone-based intervention app for depression and anxiety. She believes that mobile technology as the best way to address the enormous unmet needs for mental health evaluation and treatment.
