The University at Buffalo (UB) is dedicated to growing the life sciences sector in Buffalo, NY. Led by UB, R&D activity generates approximately $350 million in research funding, with two-thirds dedicated to life sciences. The Buffalo region ranks fourth in the nation on a per-capita basis of life science workers. More than 60 medical device companies reside here, and there are numerous office parks and a sprawling medical campus to help with the resources you need to grow.
UB connects life sciences companies to omics resources, advanced genomic and proteomic capabilities, high-performance computing solutions and funding that encourages commercialization success and growth. UB believes in educating our community on the importance of life sciences and STEM (sciences, technology, engineering and math), and work across the educational spectrum to empower the next generation of life sciences professionals. UB can help:
• industry access our genomics, proteomics and high-performance computing cores
• fund big data and health sciences companies through the Center for Advanced Technology grant and the Buffalo Institute for Genomics and Data Analytics partnerships
